FROM THE LADIES PRESIDENT
YUNDERUP IS ONE OF ELEVEN CLUBS OPERATING IN THE MURRAY DISTRICT AND OUR CLUB HAS A RELATIVELY SMALL MEMBERSHIP OF 48 LADIES.
THE CLUBHOUSE OVERLOOKS THE MURRAY RIVER AND HAS A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE WITH REGULAR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND HOME AND AWAY VISITS FROM OTHER CLUBS.
EACH SEASON THE CLUB RUNS “COMMUNITY BOWLS” TO ENCOURAGE THE LOCAL RESIDENTS TO COME ALONG AND TRY OUT A GAME IN THE EVENINGS (PRACTICE BOWLS ARE AVAILABLE).
THE SUMMER BOWLING SEASON USALLY STARTS AT THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER AND FINISHES AT THE END OF APRIL. PENNANT BOWLS (PLAYED ON TUESDAYS) USUALLY START AROUND THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER AND FINISH AROUND THE END OF FEBUARY.
OUR LADIES SOCIAL AND CHAMPIONSHIP DAYS ARE HELD ON THURSDAYS, WITH MOST OF OUR MIXED GAMES BEING HELD ON FRIDAYS AND SUNDAYS.
DURING THE SEASON GENERAL MEETINGS ARE HELD BI MONTHLY AT THE CLUBHOUSE ON MONDAY MORNINGS.
WE WOULD WELCOME ANY ENQUIRIES FROM EXPERIENCED AND NEW BOWLERS.

The ladies celebrated the end of the Pennant Season with a shared lunch at Hogs Breath Café in Mandurah.
The Novices Championship will be held on Tuesday 6th March.

Our Open Triples Event was held on Wednesday with some twenty teams from the Murray and Metro Leagues in attendance.
The Championship Fours concluded this week. Winners: Carol Rogers, Sally Pound, Moyra Martin and Jean Young. Runners-Up: Julie Peach, Pauline Sheppard, Margaret Bostock, Eve Anderson.

The Ladies Triples Championship concluded this week with Julie Peach, Sally Pound and Pat Giles defeating Eve Anderson, Helen Prater and Nell Donohoe in the final. Well done ladies!

Ladies Gala Day was held on Friday 25th November and was a great success with 28 teams competing on the greens. A fun day was had by all and well over $2,000 was raised for the Club.

The Pairs Championship concluded this week. Congratulations to the winners - Eve Anderson and Helen Prater. Joyce Hagan and Margaret Crane (Runners-Up) put up a strong challenge but were defeated by a single point in the final.
It is with great sadness that we record the death of Gwen McEwen on 18th November 2011. Gwen was a champion bowler and a good friend to many in our Club. She will be greatly missed.

Ladies Bowls Update - Week Ending 14/10/11
Our season is well and truly underway with 18 Ladies attending our Season Opening Day on 15th September and several teams already having taken part in various Gala Days and other Special Events in both the Murray League and elsewhere.
The 100 Up Competition concluded this week and was won by Carol Rogers. Julie Peach was the Runner-Up. The Veterans competition commences next week.
Yunderup Ladies held their final pennants practice game on Tuesday with the season proper starting next week.
